Finally got up in time to see comet Hale-Bopp.
Very bright. Much brighter & fuzzier than M31.
Should fill the view on the Astroscan at high power
(too cold to try this morning). Had to go toward
the NW corner of property to see the bottom of the
summer triangle. Hale-Bopp was about 7 degrees
straight up from Altair. Very noticeable once
my eyes adjusted to the light. I saw it earlier
but it looked like a star. 10 minutes later it
was very fuzzy.
